Trampoline park planned for House of Doors site in Cheshire

House of Doors now operates on the site, at at 540 W. Johnson Ave.A call to the House of Doors owner was not returned Monday and it’s unclear whether the business will move to make way for the trampoline park.Sirois Realty LLC is requesting a special permit for the site.The West Johnson Avenue property is owned by the company and officials could not be reached for comment Monday.Earl Kurtz III, the Planning and Zoning Commission chairman, said the application would probably be scheduled for a public hearing in August. The commission may also vote on the plan at that time. Kurtz hadn’t seen any details of the application and wasn’t sure if the commission would need more time to review it.“I have no idea how complicated it is or not,” he said.The House of Doors building is on less than four acres and totals 31,000 square feet.
The land and buildings are assessed at more than $1.5 million, according to town records.
Late last year, a trampoline park called Sky Zone opened in a 25,000-square-foot former warehouse on Route 5 in Wallingford.Sky Zone has dodgeball courts on trampolines, pits filled with foam cubes, and a dunk area for trampoline basketball.The company operates trampoline parks internationally and has another location in Bethel.
